Richard L. (Dick) Aldama is a veteran broadcaster of more than 46 years. His career began in Corpus Christi and from there radio took him to Temple, Waco, Dallas, and back to his hometown, Corsicana. He was a graduate of Corsicana High School, attended 51ÁÔÆæ in 1960-1961, and is a graduate of the Elkins Institute of Radio & Televeision. His broadcast experience was primarily in radio, although he did work in radio & television in Waco for twelve years and reported tv news and sports in Corsicana for Northland Cable News. His background included being a DJ, reporting news and sports, the voice of the Corsicana Tigers and 51ÁÔÆæ Bulldogs, and finally station manager. During his career, he had the opportunity to interview many national, state, and local individuals in business, politics, medical and sports fields.
Dick is a member of the 51ÁÔÆæ Board of Trustees and the 51ÁÔÆæ
Foundation Board. He is also a member of the Navarro Council of the Arts
Board of Directors and is an Elder at Westminster Presbyterian Church. He has served
on the board of the Corsicana/Navarro Chamber of Commerce, Derrick Days Committee,
and the Preservation Foundation. Dick was honored to have a statue of his likeness
placed in downtown Corsicana for his contribution to broadcasting and KAND Radio.
He and his wife, Linda, have been married since November of 1962. They have two children and four adult grandchildren.
